Eclipse Golf
Our Story

Come along as we build it.

We are getting ready to release the first Eclipse golf ball, and we are excited to bring you along as we build it. This page will be a running look at the process: the testing, the decisions, the changes, and the progress that takes us from an early idea to the ball we eventually put in play.

Progress

What moved this month: prototypes made, rounds played, numbers we are chasing.

Struggles

What is not working yet, and what we are doing about it. Written plainly, while it is still unresolved.

Breakthroughs

The moments a change finally holds up under testing, and what it means for the ball.

ProgressAugust 2026

Our first ball.

This is the ball we are building. Three-piece, thin cast urethane cover, tour-level performance at a price that does not assume you are on tour. The spec will move as we test it, and every change shows up here.

ConstructionThree-piece: high-energy core, high-performance mantle, thin cast urethane cover
CompressionMedium-firm, tour compression
Ball speedHigh. The core is built for efficient energy transfer
FlightMid trajectory
Driver spinLow
Iron spinControlled, mid
Greenside spinHigh
FeelSoft and responsive, not soft and dead
Cover goalThin enough to generate real wedge and greenside control
Mantle goalSeparate low long-game spin from high short-game spin
DriverSpeed with low spin.
IronsPredictable flight and control.
WedgesHigh spin, responsive feel.
PutterSoft enough to feel premium, firm enough to feel precise.

This log covers the ball. My personal writing lives in the Journal.
